Automatically switches your rate to leverage seasonal trends and ensure you're on the best option for your system usage and power generation.
RateSwitch™ leverages Pre-Bill Data to determine the optimal dates for switching between rates and automates this process for you to ensure you are getting the most out of your system year round.
HI
RATE
Ideal when generating more than you consume
Typically spring & summer
More sunshine and longer days means more power generation. Use what you need, and sell the excess back to the grid at the HI Rate.
LO
RATE
Ideal when consuming more than you generate
Typically fall & winter
Shorter days mean less sunshine and less power generation. Switch to the LO Rate option and choose between the current LO Rate or the Variable Rate — whichever one is lower.

How It Works

Using your Pre-Bill data:
  • When you shift from net importer → net exporter, RateSwitch moves you from LO (or Variable) Rate to HI Rate.
  • When you shift from net exporter → net importer, RateSwitch moves you from HI Rate to LO (or Variable) Rate.
  • If we have not received data from your wires company (and your status is "No data available"), no switch will occur.
  • If your status does not change from one month to the next, no switch will occur.
  • You may override the system at any time by submitting a manual rate change within your My Account portal.

Eligibility

To use RateSwitch, you must:
  • Be enrolled with an Wetaskiwin Power HI Rate, LO Rate, or Variable Rate. (Pre-Solar Rates are ineligible).
  • Acknowledge that you have read and understood the Terms and Conditions
  • Log in to your My Account portal, and click the toggle to turn on RateSwitch feature.
